Comprehensive glass claims are no-fault, so they don't carry the same weight as an at-fault accident. Rate impact varies by carrier and history, so if that's your concern, call your agent and ask specifically about a comprehensive glass repair claim before you file. We'll do the repair either way — it's $89.99 out of pocket if you'd rather skip the claim entirely.
The general rule: chips smaller than a quarter and cracks under six inches are repairable, as long as the damage isn't in the driver's direct line of sight and hasn't reached the edge of the glass. Send a photo when you book and we'll tell you before we dispatch, not after we're in your driveway.
A chip repair is done in about 30 minutes and you can drive immediately. A replacement needs urethane cure time — typically 60 minutes minimum, longer in cold weather. We give you the exact safe drive-away time for your vehicle and adhesive before we pack up.
Yes. Most vehicles from roughly 2018 on have a forward-facing camera mounted to the windshield that runs lane keeping and automatic braking. Replacing the glass without recalibrating it leaves those systems aiming at the wrong spot. We handle it as part of the job on vehicles that require it.
No, and any shop that says it is has hidden the cost somewhere else. The $299 covers the glass, urethane, and the mobile visit. If your vehicle has a windshield-mounted camera — most 2018 and newer — recalibration is a separate line: $250 for a dynamic calibration, $325 for a static one, $500 if your vehicle requires both. We look up which one yours needs and tell you that number when you book, so the price you hear on the phone is the price on the invoice.
More glass and taller windows. An SUV or minivan has more windows than a sedan and each pane takes more film and more time to shrink and set. Trucks add $75 over the listed price, SUVs and minivans add $125. We tell you the exact number for your vehicle before we schedule.
Yes, within limits. Resin and urethane both have temperature floors. If it's too cold or actively snowing where you're parked, we'll ask for a garage, a covered lot, or a warmer day. We'd rather move the appointment than hand you a repair that fails in March.
